About Us

After graduating from Marmara University Faculty of Dentistry in Istanbul in 1996, Dr. Mete Çıtır completed the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Specialty and PhD Program of the same university in 2001 and received the title of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon. During his residency, he has attended the fellowship program of Beilinson Hospital Dept. of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in Israel for 18 months. As a fellow resident, he has received an extensive training on Orthognathic Surgery, Maxillofacial Trauma, Reconstructive Maxillofacial Surgery and Advanced Implant Surgery.

Continuing his profession in his clinic in Tekirdağ since 2004, Dr. Mete Çıtır accepts patients in all areas covered by his expertise. Infections, cysts and tumors in the jaws, jaw fractures, and bone repairs, especially implant patients requiring advanced surgery, are of special interest to the profession.

Do Dental Implants Last Long?

The lifespan of dental teeth is equal to the lifespan of your natural teeth. Taking good care of oral and dental health can make it last for many years.

What happens if I don’t get a bone graft after an extraction?

The bone will heal, but it will do so in its own way. The walls that housed that tooth could collapse and reduce the height of your bone. You may also lose bone width. The more bone that you lose, the less likely you are to be a good candidate for an implant.

Does smile design hurt?

Smile design is considered a light procedure for cosmetic purposes. The majority of cosmetic dentistry treatments are relatively painless. Some patients notice a feeling of mild pressure during the placement of porcelain veneers or dental crowns. Local anesthesia is usually sufficient to ensure the comfort of most patients during treatment.

I've been told that my jaws are not suitable for implants. Can I have implants with additional procedures?

Despite the fact that implant placement is a straightforward procedure, some patients may suffer from severe bone loss in their jaws. There are quite a lot of reconstructive procedures to overcome the problems. In fact, the number of patients that cannot receive dental implants due to bone loss may be considered very close to almost none.
